At Cincinnati Transmission Specialists & Sharon Woods Auto Care, we believe in taking bold chances and turning dreams into reality. Our owner, Rick, has lived by the motto: "If you don't build your dream, someone will hire you to build theirs." With a deep passion for auto repair and a relentless drive to provide the best service possible, in 2003, Rick invested his own savings, time, and energy into opening Cincinnati Transmission Specialists in Blue Ash, Ohio. In 2019, Rick’s success with the business allowed him to expand and purchase Sharon Woods Auto Care, transforming the company into what it is currently known as: Cincinnati Transmission Specialists and Sharon Woods Auto Care. What started as a small operation with a few employees has grown into a trusted name in the industry, serving the Sharonville community and the greater Cincinnati area.
Locally Owned, Family Operated: Meet Our Founder
Rick has been in the transmission repair industry for 36 years, starting his journey at just 16 years old. Over the years, he has taken on every role imaginable—from cleaning the shop to test driving and performing diagnostics to ultimately reaching his current role of ownership, management, and customer service. Through hands-on experience and dedication, he has mastered vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and business operations, all while maintaining a strong focus on delivering five-star customer service. When he's not in the shop, Rick enjoys boating, hiking, spending time with his family, and giving back to his community.

We were fortunate to sponsor the launch of The Lamplight of Hope Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit foundation dedicated to helping to provide services and resources to families dealing with disability and other hardships. In the past, we were honored to have the ability to partner with the Butler County Board of Developmental Disabilities, but we have also worked with many other counties, local representatives, local schools, athletic organizations, as well as private entities, to support those in need.
Shortly after getting Lamplight off the ground, we were awarded the "Working Forward" small business award by Synchrony Financial, which allowed us to donate $10,000 to The Lamplight of Hope Foundation to do great work for local families.
